Call for sessions

As part of the program planning, we invite you to submit proposals for sessions that reflect current topics and challenges for the marine environment. The sessions can focus on specific research areas, interdisciplinary approaches, or practical solutions to the problems our seas face. We encourage collaboration across organizations to ensure the broadest possible interest!

Practical information:

  • Deadline for submission of proposals: April 1st, 2025
  • Format: Provide a title, a short description (max 300 words), and the expected number of presentations. Also include responsible persons (for the session).
    Please note:
A standard session is typically about 1.5 hours with approximately 6 presentations, but the proposers do not need to suggest all the presentations themselves (see below). We also invite ideas for sessions in other formats (speed talks, debates, etc.).
  • Submission: Send your proposal to havforsker2026@au.dk with the subject “Session Proposal - Danish Marine Research Meeting 2026"

At the conference, it will be optional to present in Danish or English, and we therefore also accept session proposals in both languages.

Tasks for session chairs:

If your session proposal is approved, you, as the session chairs, will be asked to evaluate the submitted abstracts within the session’s topic. You may also assist in encouraging colleagues to submit abstracts. You will also be asked to lead the session at the Marine Science Meeting (introduce speakers and keep time).

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at havforsker2026@au.dk

We look forward to your contributions and to another inspiring meeting.
